Local Debt Help Guide for Hastings

Government cuts announced in the Comprehensive Spending Review are set to have a significant impact on the Hastings area. In anticipation of this, we have produced this Free Debt Help Guide for Hastings.

A massive 43% of Hastings’ workforce is currently employed in the public sector. This leaves Hastings particularly vulnerable to the planned public sector job cuts.

Planned government cuts mean an estimated ½ million public sector jobs will be lost, although some economists put the figure at 725,000.

Hastings will feel the impact, since its workforce relies so much on public sector employment.

To make matters worse, the cuts will coincide with reductions in welfare benefits including housing benefits, Child Benefit and Child Tax Credit.
