Who we are

National debt charity

We are the UK’s leading money advice and debt management charity providing free, confidential advice and support to help hundreds of thousands of people and families each year achieve a resolution to their money worries and a start towards a more secure financial future.

The Foundation for Credit Counselling, based in Leeds, is a charity registered in England and Wales, operating under the well known name of Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) in the United Kingdom.

We fulfil our aims in Northern Ireland through a partnership with the Limavady Community Development Initiative (LCDI), a cross community charity in Northern Ireland serving the community through a range of projects, including money advice to the exacting standards of CCCS.

In Scotland, the charity is registered as Consumer Credit Counselling Service Scotland (CCCS Scotland) and operates out of its centre in Glasgow, serving the entire Scottish population.

Free and accessible help

Through our free national telephone service and online CCCS Debt Remedy service, we are able to help people with money difficulties wherever they live in the United Kingdom.

Our proven and successful formula of specialised advisory services, backed by substantial after care and support, has already helped hundreds of thousands of people in the UK to understand their situation and circumstances and by recommending tailored solutions to overcome their money and debt problems.

We are a beacon of independent, trustworthy advice that works to create fair and pragmatic solutions for all sides.
