We make sure that our rates of pay reflect the market and also the level of responsibility for each job.
We give our staff pay increases every year on 1 January and the increase reflects your performance in the year. As well as your basic pay, we also offer a wide range of benefits which include the following.
A yearly bonus
We recognise that every individual contributes to the excellent service we provide to people in financial difficulty. Our bonus is never based on targets or sales, but on your attendance.
Group personal pension
We have a contributory pension scheme for all employees. This means that we will contribute between 4% and 8% to your pension. So, along with your tax-free investment into the scheme, you have a great benefit in the future.
Health-care cashplan
This scheme allows you to claim money back on medical costs (including dental and opticians’ costs) and covers much more than the necessities in life. You can also claim money back for other treatments such as aromatherapy, reiki, and massage.
Buying and selling yearly leave
Every year we give you 22 days paid holiday, plus bank holidays. We also give you an extra day’s holiday for every year you work here (up to 27 days in total). You also have the chance to buy or sell up to five days holiday a year.
Discounted parking
Depending on whether or not this is available, we have parking passes which allow you to pay low fixed prices to park at the multi-storey car park next to our offices in Leeds. At this time we do not have a similar scheme at our other regional centres.
Helpline for employees
We use the services of FirstAssist, who provide a 24-hour counselling, legal advice and medical helpline all year. You can speak confidentially to counsellors, legal consultants or doctors about any personal, legal or medical problems you may have.
Death in service benefit
While you work for us, you are covered by our death-in-service benefit. This means that if you die, we will pay three times your basic salary to the people you have chosen to receive the money.
Internet café
We have an internet café in our Leeds and Halifax offices, so you can surf the web out of work hours while enjoying a cup of coffee.
